Reading at the heart of the curriculum
"To learn to read is to light a fire" Victor Hugo
Recent research from Ofsted identifies much of the vocabulary children need to be successful learners is derived from reading.
From auditory discrimination skills and phonic knowledge, through to reading for pleasure, this course explores all aspects of reading and will support teachers and leaders to put reading at the very heart of their curriculum.
Ruth will draw on her experience as a class teacher, SENCo, Headteacher, Early Years and School Improvement Adviser and inspector to share research and best practice and support delegates to develop a "reading rich" curriculum.
